Feels like life is at a STANDSTILL…

40 weeks 4 days

How far along? 40 weeks on Sunday June 10, 2012
Weight gain/loss: +25.8
Size of baby: the size of a baby!
Sleep: besides getting up 3-4 times to pee not too shabby
Food cravings/aversions: I am sick of cravings and aversions.
Pregnancy Signs: I am irritable and cranky like no other. I hate that feeling.
Labor Signs: Tuesday night we thought was IT. I had been feeling really crampy down low and tightening in my belly all day long. The tightenings were causing a little more pain then they had been with the Braxton Hicks contractions. It got worse after dinner so we decided to time them but nothing was very regular. Went to bed and I was just so uncomfortable with the tightenings and cramps so Matias and I got up and did more timing…the tightenings were about every 5 min so we called the doc. They assured all was OK to stay home unless the contractions got to where I could not function. It has been like this on and off since then. bleh. My legs have radiating pain down them as well.
Movement: still a busy little guy
Gender: BOY
What I miss: WINE, arctic zero, biking, running, blading, my body, etc…
What I am looking forward to: labor…NOT…but coming home with our new little friend and continuing to grow this lovely family :)
Best moment this week: Mommy got into town last Thursday. I LOVE love love having her here…makes the waiting not as bad…I would pretty much be going crazy during the day without her. She cooks, cleans, WEEDS, tidys, runs errands with me, loves, etc.
Milestones: Monday’s appointment had another internal check…2cm dilated and paper thin effacement…and baby P is low low low…soooo not sure what he is waiting for?! But I guess the further along I am before labor the easier/quicker it will be? T-minus 5 more nights until induction on Jun 20 at 1am.
Weekly Wisdom: Treat everything you do like a transition…this makes for a more efficient life.
Going the Distance: baby P has swam: 469.96 miles, biked: 1276.48 miles, walk/ran: 114.20 miles, and done: 51 hot yogs classes

39 weeks 5 days

just WAITING. still working…really helps keep my mind off the waiting. still swimming every morning…feels awesome (see video of swimming at 38 weeks!). and still walking in the afternoon/evenings. will this be my last post pre-baby P?!

How far along? 39 weeks on Sunday June 3, 2012
Weight gain/loss: +25.0…weight gain has come to a halt maybe even dropped over the past month…they say this is not uncommon nearing the end of pregnancy
Size of baby: a watermelon
Sleep: aside from getting up every hour to pee I can’t complain. My Brest Friend 3-in-1 body pillow has really pulled through for me.
Food cravings/aversions: the froyo obsession continues
Pregnancy Signs: I am definitely feeling different over the last week. I was on fire with the move and unpacking and situating…now I have hit some real exhaustion. and had a few serious nausea waves…even had a blackout with one nausea episode :( and I am having to clear myself out each time I eat…bust. irritability is at a high…I apologize.
Labor Signs: pelvic pressure increasing…when I lay or sit and get back up it takes me a bit to be able to fully stand up straight because there is so much pressure down there. the braxton hicks contractions continue…or I think that is what they are…either he gets into a big ball in the middle of my tummy or it is a contraction and my tummy is just tightening up. I have also had some intense gas type pains real low in my abdomen/pelvis area…something is going on down there…
Movement: he is still moving a lot…they say movement slows down when labor is nearing so not sure what is going on here
Gender: BOY
What I miss: let’s go with what WILL I miss…as the end nears I think about what it will be like to NOT be pregnant. It will be strange to sleep without feeling the little guy inside of me. I will miss feeling special as strangers stare at me, open doors, give me special treatment wherever I go. and will I miss this belly?…maybe just a little :)
What I am looking forward to: baby Ps arrival!!! June 10? what will he look like? what will he be like? Nana says that you can tell a lot of their personality within the first few hours.
Best moment this week: Nana got here last night!
Milestones: went for my weekly check-in last Monday and had the first internal exam…75% effaced and 0 dilation. also scheduled an induction date (if that is necessary) for June 20…doc does not seem to think it will be necessary…baby P is way down there and ready for go time
Weekly Wisdom: “The more pregnant you get, the smaller your head looks” – Matias
Going the Distance: baby P has swam: 454.15 miles, biked: 1276.48 miles, walk/ran: 102.10 miles, and done: 51 hot yogs classes

38 weeks

How far along? 38 weeks on Sunday May 27, 2012
Weight gain/loss: +25.4
Size of baby: a pumpkin…I will believe that!
Sleep: falling asleep has gotten better since the move is over…now my only anxiety is just waiting…I lay down thinking about how it is all going to go down. staying asleep is another story. I am getting up more and more frequently to pee and Matias has been up every other night or so frantically looking for baby P…I calmly tell him that baby P is still in my tummy…he says PHEW OHH OK! and falls back asleep. BUHHHAHAHA
Food cravings: WINE…I gave up wine with pregnancy…yea, it is OK to have a glass here and there…but what is ONE glass of wine?! I can’t wait to have a FEW glasses of wine! hehe
Food aversions: mustard
Pregnancy Signs: over the past week I have had a strange amount of energy…guess this is what they call nesting…and without having a room for baby P before we moved I had a lot of built up nesting energy to let out!
Labor Signs: pelvic pressure and twinges getting worse and loosing some bladder control…OOPS
Movement: he is a busy little guy…moves my whole body
Gender: BOY
What I miss: I have an awesome walk-in closet at the new place…unpacking and organizing all of my clothes made me miss all the things I can not wear right now…hopefully one day…
What I am looking forward to: I have been wondering where my allergies were this season…well the move really seemed to stir them up and the past week has been a bit miserable. I had started getting allergy shots 2 weeks before I became pregnant since i am allergic to just about everything but cockroaches. When I became pregnant I had not gotten far enough into the shots so I had to stop. Looking forward to starting those back up again.
Best moment this week: finally setting up baby Ps room!
Milestones: we are all situated in the new place! we spent about a week and a half moving and unpacking. each night Matias would move a few loads over and the next day I would spend unpacking…we must have made about 20 trips. I felt frantic to get it all done before baby P came out. we are ready now baby P!
Weekly Wisdom: “I’m not interested in being Wonder Woman in the delivery room. Give me drugs.” – Madonna …yea so I think I have a birth plan!
Going the Distance: baby P has swam: 438.95 miles, biked: 1276.48 miles, walk/ran: 92.10 miles, and done: 51 hot yogs classes

and we have a nursery!
